The ICARE Project aim is to empower IACUCs and their institutions to maintain highest quality animal care and use and to increase compliance with federal standards while minimizing regulatory burden. The Interagency Collaborative Animal Research Education (ICARE) Project https://olaw.nih.gov/education/icare-interagency uses active learning pedagogy which has been shown to increase effectiveness of adult education in factual and theoretical understanding of scientific and ethical issues by engaging the learner in activities that require the application of high-level concepts.

We have secured a $149/night plus tax room rate at the Omni Park West Dallas Hotel for all ICARE Academy participants. This rate is the per diem for Dallas, TX.
Participants will book their hotel rooms directly with the hotel via the ONLINE BOOKING LINK. If you have trouble, please call 1-800-843-6664 and ask for the ICARE room block. We recommend that you book your room for arrival on Wednesday, February 6 and departure on Friday, February 8 or Saturday, February 9, depending on your travel arrangements. (The ICARE Academy classroom sessions end at 5:00 PM on Friday, February 8).

The hotel can arrange for a discount round trip airport transfer from DFW Airport for $34 round trip.
Attendees may also elect to obtain a shuttle from Super Shuttle from either DFW or DAL Airport.

The hotel is located less than 8 miles from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Airport and 10 miles from Dallas Love Field (DAL) Airport.
Most major airlines go through DFW Airport except Southwest Airlines which is only available through Dallas Love Field (DAL) Airport.
