Sunny Woo is the Team Leader of International Affairs Team in the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association(KMDIA). The KMDIA is the leading organization and collective voice of medical device manufacturers, importers, and innovators in S. Korea. As a representative of Korean medical devices industry, KMDIA collaborates with healthcare regulatory authorities and their related industry organizations in and outside of Korea.
She has contributed to international affairs in pharmaceuticals and medical devices over 17 years. She built her first career at Pharmaceutical Bureau of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA), which is now Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). Her experience in working for both MFDS and industry associations is of great help to play as a bridge between the regulatory authority and the industry.
She has been actively participating in international cooperation activities conducted with DITTA, GMTA, Advamed, APACMed, and MedTech Europe since 2019 when she joined KMDIA.
She works closely with MFDS to assist Korean medical device industry in actively engaging in the global regulatory harmonization including IMDRF and GHWP.
