Mr. Hiiti Sillo is the Unit Head, Regulation and Safety within the WHO Department of Regulation and Prequalification. In this role, he coordinates WHO strategies for strengthening national and regional regulatory systems across the product life-cycle, including promoting regulatory harmonization, networking, convergence, work-sharing and reliance. He was previously the Team Lead, Regulatory Systems Strengthening within the Regulation and Safety Unit of WHO.

Before joining WHO in January 2018, he was the Director General of the Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA), the predecessor of the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA).

Mr. Sillo is a Pharmacist and holds an MSc in Pharmaceutical Services and Medicines Control.
