ICARE VIRTUAL SESSIONS

Those who care for biomedical research animals have the responsibility of providing support to scientists and exemplary care to the animals that depend upon us. To support IACUC members and staff and animal care and use program personnel, the ICARE faculty offers new online programs, OLAW Conversations and OLAW History. The program will provide institutional animal care and use program personnel the opportunity to view presentations on the following topics:

OLAW CONVERSATIONS presented by ICARE will be offered at NO CHARGE.  Participants are invited to register for any session of interest.

The program format is webinar. Modules and group work are not included in this program.

Each session will be offered 1:30 - 3:30 PM Eastern time on the date provided in the schedule below which corresponds to:

  • 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM Central
  • 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM Mountain
  • 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM Pacific

The sessions are live only and will not be recorded.

Please join the ICARE Project for an online panel discussion: History of US Animal Welfare Oversight. This free webinar will be broadcast live via Zoom and subsequently will be available to the public.

 

Panelists will share their longstanding commitment to humane care and use of animals in the conduct of scientific research, including the development, harmonization, and implementation of the PHS Policy and Animal Welfare Act and Regulations, the origin of IACUCs, commitment to performance standards, minimization of administrative burden, and operation of quality animal care and use programs. Participants may register for any session(s) of interest. The goal of the ICARE Project is to improve animal welfare while reducing regulatory burden and improving compliance with federal standards. To reach that goal, the ICARE faculty have developed and offered workshops since 2016.

REGISTRATION

IACUC members and Institutional personnel involved in animal care and use programs (veterinarians, compliance, PAM, trainers, investigators, administrators) may register to participate in the ICARE Virtual sessions.

  • Registration is FREE and limited to 500 participants per session; there is no fee for participating in the ICARE Virtual Sessions.
  • If more than 500 people register, ICARE will maintain a wait list; more session(s) may be offered if demand is sufficient.
  • Participants may register for any session(s) of interest.
